So this is my brand new blog.  A box of trinkets and treasures that will accumulate as I walk through life and encounter different things.  Hopefully many thoughts will be put into words here and maybe inspire or at least make someone else think.  I’m a student living in sunny South Africa, currently doing some missions work but hoping to go study at an university next year.  I love the Lord Jesus Christ above all else and I truly want to reflect that through everything I write. He is my all and without Him I’d be lost.

Aah, writing…  One thing I absolutely love is writing. Poetry, journaling, my prayers, anything I think about.  Some people say it’s therapeutic.  I don’t know.  I tend to be very random, many times inspired by the amount of coffee I drink!  Well, enough about me now.  I’d like to end off with a poem I wrote a few months ago.  I actually wrote it for one of my friends, but I trust it will speak to hearts.

Let go

Freedom in a drop of crimson

Chains shatter at your feet

Sometimes our own voice of reason

Can confuse us even more

Our hands have become accustomed

To holding onto hurt and chains

Strangely when we let it go

We find our hands can lift up high

Allow the crimson flow

To heal the scars you bear

For Love once hung upon a tree

Through His wounds you can be healed

Terrified heart, don’t be afraid

He’s pursuing you in love

By His plan you were made

Let go and rise above
